Position Title:
GIC Cheer – Regional Coordinator
Position Overview
GIC Cheer Regional Coordinators serve as the tangible, on-the-ground representation of GIC Cheer within their assigned region. This role is critical to the success, growth, and athlete experience of GIC Cheer, acting as the primary liaison between GIC leadership, athletes, families, and regional cheer communities.
Regional Coordinators are trusted ambassadors who help recruit athletes, disseminate official information, foster community, and provide hands-on support throughout the GIC Cheer journey—from registration through arrival and participation at the Myrtle Beach Camp & Showcase.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal Regional Coordinator is well-connected, respected, and actively engaged in the cheer ecosystem within their region. Candidates may include:

Cheer Coaches

Team Moms / Parent Leaders

Cheer Gym Owners

Cheer Judges
-
Athletic Directors or Cheer Directors
Candidates must have a strong regional presence, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for athlete development and family engagement.
Regional Assignments
Regional Coordinators will be assigned to one of the following regions:

North
-
South
-
East
-
West
-
Southeast
-
East Gold
Each region may span multiple states, requiring coordinators to leverage both in-person and digital engagement tools.

Key Responsibilities
Athlete Recruitment & Growth
-
Spearhead the recruitment of a minimum of 30 GIC Cheer athletes within the assigned region
-
Recruitment may include:
-
Team registrations
-
Individual athlete registrations
-
-
Target athlete breakdown (flexible but ideal):
-
10 Pixies (8U)
-
10 Angels (9–12U)
-
5–10 Goddesses (13U+)
-
-
Maintain a visible and trusted presence within local cheer communities, gyms, and networks
Regional Leadership & Communication
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for coaches, athletes, and families within the region
-
Disseminate official information from GIC Cheer leadership accurately and consistently
-
Manage and moderate regional communication platforms such as:
-
GroupMe
-
Band App
-
Similar approved communication tools
-
-
Ensure families receive timely updates, reminders, and expectations
Athlete & Family Engagement
-
Host group Zoom calls with teams and families multiple times between:
-
Registration
-
Camp arrival in Myrtle Beach
-
-
Support onboarding, preparation, and expectation-setting
-
Build trust, excitement, and cohesion within the regional group
Event & On-Site Support (Myrtle Beach)

Provide hands-on, in-person support during the GIC Cheer Camp & Showcase
-
Lead and manage regional check-in
-
Serve as the first line of support and problem-solving for athletes and families
-
Act as a direct liaison between regional participants and GIC leadership
Participant Satisfaction & Retention

Assist in ensuring a positive, organized, and supportive athlete experience

Help resolve concerns quickly and professionally

Support leadership in maintaining high levels of:
