Position Title:
GIC Cheer – Assistant Regional Coordinator
Position Overview
The GIC Cheer Assistant Regional Coordinator supports the Regional Coordinator in executing regional operations, athlete engagement, and communication efforts. This role is ideal for individuals with previous high-level cheer experience who are passionate about mentorship, organization, and contributing to a premier national cheer platform.
Assistant Regional Coordinators play a key role in ensuring smooth communication, athlete support, and regional preparedness leading up to and during GIC Cheer events. While they are not required to be currently active within a cheer organization, they must possess a strong understanding of cheer culture, athlete needs, and team dynamics.
Eligibility & Experience Requirements

Previous high-level cheer experience required, such as:

Competitive all-star cheer

High school or collegiate cheer
-
Professional or elite cheer experience

Current affiliation with a cheer gym or organization not required

Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills

Ability to represent GIC Cheer professionally and positively
Key Responsibilities
Regional Support & Operations

Support the Regional Coordinator in managing regional athlete groups
-
Assist with tracking athlete registrations, rosters, and communication
-
Help ensure regional recruitment goals are met
Athlete & Family Engagement

Assist in communicating with athletes and families within the region
-
Help moderate regional communication platforms (GroupMe, Band App, etc.)
-
Support group Zoom calls and virtual check-ins as assigned
-
Answer general questions and escalate issues when necessary
Recruitment Assistance

Support recruitment efforts through outreach, referrals, and community engagement
-
Assist with individual athlete recruitment and team referrals
-
Promote GIC Cheer opportunities within personal and professional networks
Event & On-Site Support

Provide hands-on support during GIC Cheer events and camps

Assist with regional check-in and athlete coordination on-site

Serve as an additional point of support for athletes and families

Support problem-solving efforts in collaboration with the Regional Coordinator and leadership
Liaison & Leadership Support

Serve as a secondary liaison between athletes/families and GIC Cheer leadership
-
Help ensure consistent messaging and alignment with GIC Cheer policies

Support participant satisfaction, athlete retention, and overall experience
